PreconCell® — Hydrostatic-Pressure Cell Preconditioning for Cryopreservation

Reproductive biotechnology / IVF & cryopreservation

  • 10-minute preconditioning
  • +51% total post-thaw motility · +65% progressive motility
  • 66 peer-reviewed publications

Overview

Cryopreservation is a cornerstone of assisted reproduction, animal breeding, and cell banking, but many frozen cells fail to recover full function after thawing. PreconCell® applies a brief, controlled hydrostatic-pressure stimulus before freezing, activating cells’ own stress-defense mechanisms instead of added cryoprotectants — a 10-minute treatment with no chemical additives.

In controlled human sperm studies, a short PreconCell protocol increased post-thaw total motility by 51% and progressive motility by 65%. The approach is backed by more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, studied with institutions across ten countries, spanning sperm, oocytes, embryos, and other cell types.

How it works

  1. Fresh sample
  2. 10-minute pressure preconditioning
  3. Cryopreservation
  4. Improved post-thaw survival

Evidence & results

Clinical evidence (from controlled human sperm studies, paired samples):

  • Experiment I: total motility improved 51% (16.2% → 24.5% post-thaw); progressive motility improved 65% (10.3% → 17.0% post-thaw)
  • Experiment II (poor-freezability samples): 28% of previously non-surviving samples showed detectable sperm after thawing following treatment

Scientific validation: the technology is backed by 66 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conference proceedings, and has been studied through international collaborations with institutions in at least 10 countries (USA, New Zealand, Taiwan, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Hungary, China, Denmark, Poland, and more).

Broad applications: human reproduction, animal breeding, IVF & embryo technologies, stem cell research, biobanking & cell preservation.

Experiment I chart: short preconditioning protocol improves human sperm motility after cryopreservation, paired samples from 50 patients
Experiment II chart: preconditioning protocol improves motility in poor-freezability donor samples

Results from controlled human sperm studies using paired samples.
